After graduating from Colby, Lijah Barasz ’06 moved to Los Angeles to attend a screenwriting class at UCLA and soon landed a job as an assistant on TV show Life Unexpected. Several assistant jobs later, she earned a position as a writer’s assistant for Pretty Little Liars. “That’s a better education than grad school because you’re in the room,” Barasz said.

She soon got the opportunity to be head writer for an episode, which led her to her current job on the team writing Pretty Little Liars. The team of seven writers is working on season six.
