A photo of Fidel Castro taken in 1959 by the grandfather of Jake Lester ’18 was the focus of a Nov. 28 Boston Globe article. The Lester family gathered to recall the events surrounding the photo—taken when Castro’s train stopped at their Westwood, Mass., station—at a time when Jake Lester, who developed a sense of adventure through his grandfather’s photos, prepares to study abroad in Cuba. “I get to speak Spanish, I get to play music, and I get to learn about somewhere new that is shrouded in mystery for us Americans,” Lester told the Globe.
