Loren McClenachan coauthored a paper titled “Opportunities for improving global marine conservation through multilateral treaties” in Marine PolicyMcClenachan, the Elizabeth and Lee Ainslie Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies, and her authors offer an analysis “of all multilateral treaties governing activities related to oceans.” Even with an increase in the number of treaties, “the declining state of the world’s oceans suggest that these treaties are largely failing to fulfill their missions and achieve meaningful protection.”
