Chad Higgins ’97, a shareholder and litigator at New England-based law firm Bernstein Shur, received the “Arc of Justice” award from the New England Innocence Project. According to the New England Innocence Project, “Arc of Justice” award recipients demonstrate “unparalleled commitment, tenacity, and courage to ‘bend the arc of the moral universe toward justice’ for innocent people convicted of crimes they did not commit.”

The award recognizes Higgins’s outstanding pro bono efforts to free Keyon Sprinkle, a man who was wrongfully incarcerated for the last 20 years. Higgins was honored at the Voices of the Innocent event on Nov. 19.

In addition to his work with the New England Innocence Project, Higgins remains actively involved in the Colby community and serves on the Alumni Council.
