A Forbes magazine article titled “How Passengers with Disabilities Can Drive the Autonomous Vehicle Revolution” covers an app co-created by Colby’s Assistant Professor of Computer Science Stacy Doore. The Autonomous Vehicle Assistant, “which was awarded a $300,000 research development prize earlier this year by the U.S. Department of Transport[ation], is an app-based system intended to help disabled passengers negotiate all stages of an autonomous vehicle journey based on ridesharing.”
