To start the recruitment and hiring process, hiring managers must contact Human Resources.
Hiring managers will collaborate with our HR Business Partners when a hiring need arises prior to the recruitment process. This will include discussing the current job requirements and description or drafting a new position (see the Job Description template example below if required). The recruitment & hiring team is available to provide support with candidate profile review, screening support, candidate communications. Hiring managers must keep Human Resources informed at each step of the search.
Hiring managers should also keep in mind that the best hiring methods include developing a strong pool of diverse candidates from all groups in our pipeline. Prior to extending offers to candidates, hiring managers are required to complete the hiring justification, also found on the Recruitment Resources page. Once received the HR Business Partners or Recruitment & Hiring team will contact the hiring manager to confirm employment terms, wages, and approval to proceed. The hiring manager must consult with the department head, vice president/dean, and Human Resources to ensure that the appropriate procedures have been followed.
Only the president, the provost and dean of faculty, the vice president for administration and CFO, and the VP/Chief Human Resources Officer are authorized to approve employment offers on behalf of the College.

Welcoming a new hire to our campus community is an exciting time, and we want to ensure everyone has a great experience. To provide consistent and comprehensive introductions to our community, their position, benefits, and campus offerings, we host a New Hire Orientation on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
