Founded in 1813, Colby College is the 12th-oldest private liberal arts college in the country. Located in central Maine, our 714-acre Mayflower Hill campus overlooks downtown Waterville and the Kennebec River Valley. Conveniently located off I-95, Colby College is the ideal setting for your next program. The beautiful, picture-postcard campus offers guests a safe, retreat-type setting that fosters learning and growth. Each summer, more than 6,000 people from Maine and around the globe come to Colby College to attend medical training courses, conferences, and seminars as well as youth programs and sports camps.
With good reason, Maine is commonly known as Vacationland. It offers many outstanding recreational opportunities year-round. Particularly during the summer, Maine has become a popular destination because of its moderate climate, pristine lakes, rugged coastline, and lush forests. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of their stay and explore the magnificent outdoors, both on campus and in the surrounding community.
While on campus, our guests may take advantage of our fitness center, sauna, indoor pool, squash courts, outdoor tennis courts, and an all-weather eight-lane track. We have miles of walking and cross-country running trails that wind through the wooded areas of our 714-acre campus and the Perkins Arboretum.
For additional hiking and running trails, guests may visit the Quarry Road Trails, located within walking distance to campus and offering more than six miles of trails. Also, near campus are several excellent golf courses, including theBelgrade Lakes Golf Club and Waterville Country Club’s challenging and well-maintained 18-hole course.
Come join us and see why Maine is called Vacationland!
