Professor Fleming Election to AAAS
James Fleming, the Charles A. Dana Professor of Science, Technology, and Society (STS), was elected to the council of the AAAS, the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was elected an AAAS Fellow in 2003; held the Roger Revelle Fellowship in Global Stewardship during his sabbatical year of 2006-07; served as chair of Section L on History and Philosophy of Science from 2006 to 2009; and was chair of Section X on Societal Impacts of Science and Engineering from 2013 to 2016. The AAAS, founded in 1848, is the world’s largest multidisciplinary scientific society and a leading publisher of cutting-edge research through its flagship journalĀ Science.
