Dear Campus Community,
Colby’s collaborative community helps define the College and the personal health and safety of all community members is among the College’s highest priorities. We take a proactive approach to health and safety issues, using education, prevention, and response efforts to protect every member of the campus community. Through these efforts, Colby fosters a respectful environment that furthers the educational and professional endeavors of all.
Colby is committed to eradicating all forms of sexual misconduct and sexual violence on campus. It is important to remember, however, that any single campus constituency cannot prevent sexual misconduct on its own. Sexual violence and harassment on campus affects everyone and, as such, the entire campus community must work collectively to create a safe environment in which all members can live, work, and learn. Together we can maintain a community where sexual assault, domestic violence, and relationship violence have no place. We want all of our community members to thrive and work to keep each other accountable and safe.
To help educate our community, we are providing this important guide. We encourage you to review Colby’s policies on the College’s website and in the Student Handbook. Reviewing this valuable information will increase your knowledge about the support resources available. Of course, we encourage you to use the campus resources to prevent and address sexual violence and harassment.
Please don’t hesitate to ask for support and guidance. Colby provides services and resources to assist all students, faculty, and staff to maintain the strong community that is our hallmark.
