Now celebrating its 48th year at Colby College, the New England Seminar in Forensic Sciences is led by distinguished instructors from across the country. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of current standard practices in the medical examiner/coroner and death investigation fields. Sessions are designed to provide current and exhaustive coverage in forensic science on an annual recurring basis. The course has been accredited to offer 25.5 AMA PRA 1 Credits™.

Accommodations are available in the residence halls on campus or the new, air-conditioned apartments in downtown Waterville. You may reserve your private rooms on campus or in downtown Commons apartments when you register for the course.

Bring Your Family and Friends to Explore Maine!
Guests staying on campus are encouraged to bring their family or friends for an additional fee. Plan to arrive early or extend your stay to explore Maine – Colby College is conveniently located in Central Maine for easy day trips to popular destinations. Your family and friends will have access to the same campus amenities listed above, including the lobster bake. Add family and friends or additional lobster bake meals when you register for the conference or phone 207-859-4730 to make these changes to your existing registration.
2021 Housing Rates
Full Program: $350/Registrant Check-in July 25, 9:00 am. Check-out July 29, 2:00 pm.
Daily Rate: $75/Day Check-in 3:00 pm. Check-out 10:00 am after your last night.
Family And Friends: $200 for adults 18+ and $120 for children 17- (full program only)*
Lobster Bake: $60/plate additional meals can be purchased when you register
*Please note that only registered adults 18 and older will be provided a full meal option of lobster steak or vegetarian at the lobster bake reception. Kids 17 and under will be served hot dogs and sides off the buffet unless an additional lobster bake meal is purchased for them.
Though the conference begins on Sunday, guests are permitted to arrive on Saturday (check-in beginning at 3:00 PM) at no additional cost. Please indicate whether or not you plan to arrive on Saturday in your registration to ensure your room will be ready.
Early arrival check-in and key pickup will be 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 24th in Cotter Union. Guests who plan to check in on Saturday should indicate so in their registration.
Sunday conference check-in begins at 11:00 am in the Diamond Building and will continue until 5:00 pm.
Check-in for guests arriving after Sunday or outside our normal hours (8:00 am – 8:00 pm) can be arranged ahead of time. Please contact our office for more information.
Check-out for the conference will be at 12:00 PM/Noon on Thursday, July 29th. Guests should plan to return their keys by 2:00 pm.
If you are checking out before Thursday or after hours, please contact our office about returning your keys.
The welcome reception is typically held on Sunday evening in the Diamond building Atrium. More information regarding the specific time and location will be released with the official schedule.
Typically held on Monday evening at the Roberts outdoor dining patio, the traditional Maine Lobster Bake is always great fun! Enjoy a perfect meal of lobster, steak, or steamed tofu and vegetables with all of the traditional sides, including steamed muscles and clams, dinner rolls, hot dogs, steamed potatoes, corn on the cob, watermelon, and blueberry lemon bars! Our bar is typically stocked with red and white wine and two kinds of beer. Registered guests twenty-one and older will be given one drink ticket each and can pay cash for additional drinks. Ice water, lemonade, and coffee will also be provided. In the event of bad weather, the lobster bake will be held indoors.
The lobster bake is included for all attendees and their guests registered for on-campus housing. Registered children ages seventeen and under will not be given a ticket for lobster, steak, or steamed tofu and vegetables unless an additional meal ticket is purchased for them. Instead, all you can eat hot dogs and sides will be available off the buffet.
If you plan to stay on campus for the partial program or off-campus, you can attend the lobster bake for a fee of $60/plate.
Please sign up for the lobster bake when you register for the conference as we will not be able to add people to the guest list after the first day of the conference.

This activity is planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Maine Medical Education Trust (MMET) and Colby College. The Maine Medical Education Trust is accredited by the Maine Medical Association Committee on Continuing Medical Education and Accreditation to provide continuing medical education to physicians.
ABMDI accepts approved AMA credits offered through this course, and participants may receive one credit for each hour of attendance.
