Student Employment – I-9s
Starting in the fall of 2022, academic year student employment will be consolidated into the Office of Human Resources (HR) in Roberts. In the meantime, academic year student employment remains with the Office of Student Financial Services while summer employment is through HR. More information will be shared in the coming months as we try to make this transition as seamless as possible.
As we make this transition, one area HR will be focusing on is the verification of employment eligibility by way of a Form I-9. To ensure compliance with federal law, the College must have a completed Form I-9 on file for any employee (faculty, staff, or student) AND must verify an employee’s original documentation. Students who need to complete an I-9 should be prepared to provide one or more acceptable documents (click here for a list) to the HR team, before any employment begins. Unfortunately, we need to verify original documents — digital or photocopies are not acceptable. We appreciate the assistance of supervisors in confirming that student workers have completed their I-9 and documentation has been provided in person in HR.
