Named for Elijah Parish Lovejoy, an 1826 Colby graduate and America’s first martyr to freedom of the press, Lovejoy houses humanities and social science classrooms and offices of the departments of Classics, East Asian Studies, Philosophy, Religious Studies, German and Russian, Italian and French, as well as Spanish. Information Technology Services has offices on the ground floor. Lovejoy 100 is a lecture hall for more than 100. A student computer laboratory, open 24 hours a day, is on the fourth floor, as is the Language Resource Center.
