My name is Katie George, and I am a senior at Colby! I am a pre-med student majoring in Psychology. I have enjoyed volunteering for many different organizations over the past few years. In high school I created an annual fundraiser for the National Foundation for Cancer Research, and I currently volunteer for Hardy Girls Healthy Women.  I am very excited to continue to volunteer and work for the CVC this year! In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors.

Olivia Corkery ’19

Hi! My name is Olivia Corkery and I’m a junior at Colby. I’m a psychology major with a concentration in neuroscience as well as an STS minor (Science, Technology, and Society). I became involved in volunteering beginning in high school with my school’s Take Back the Night Club, organizing events to raise awareness for domestic violence. Outside of the Volunteer Center, I am a caller at Colby’s Phonation, a volunteer mentor for Colby Cares About Kids, and an event planner for Colby’s Spoon University chapter. I am a big runner and love exploring Maine’s outdoors!

Julia Kostro ’20

My name is Julia Kostro, I’m from Belmont, MA, and I’m a sophomore at Colby! I’m an education major, and I am also a volunteer for Best Buddies and Colby Cares about Kids. I got involved with volunteering in high school as a phone operator for Samaritans Inc, a suicide hotline in Boston, MA. Outside of volunteering, I am also a member of Colby’s club volleyball team, a research assistant in the education department, and a huge dog lover. I’m so excited to be an the director of media and communications of the CVC this year!

Max Brown ’19

Hi there! My name is Max Brown and I am from Burlington, VT. I’m a pre-med student majoring in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience. Volunteering has long been an important part of my life and I first became involved with the CVC my first year at Colby. I am primarily involved at Inland Hospital in Waterville, helping those in the rehabilitation center and ER, but I am also a member of several other CVC clubs. I love music, hiking, soccer, and skiing.

 

 

 

 

Natalie Guarino ’21

My name is Natalie Guarino and I am a sophomore at Colby College. I will be graduating in 2021 and I am a French and psychology double major. My freshman year I was a volunteer at the Waterville Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter as a member of the Colby Lives of Purpose club. I am also a member of the club women’s rugby team. I am so excited to be a part of the Colby Volunteer Center and make a difference on and off campus.

 

 

 

 

Hannah Smith-Erb ’21

Hi! My name is Hannah and I’m super enthusiastic about community! As a first year, I volunteered at the homeless shelter as a way to build community at Colby and with Waterville citizens. This year, I am looking forward to working with the CVC to expand the programs and events open to Colby students. I enjoy studying religion and psychology, going on outdoor adventures, and being in involved in Colby Religious and Spiritual Life.

 

 

 

Faiza Qazi ’21

Hey there! My name is Faiza Qazi and I’m currently a sophomore at Colby! I am a pre-med student planning to double major in Psychology concentrated in Neuroscience along with Environmental Policy and hopefully minor in Art if time allows. This is my first year working with CVC, and I will be focusing my work on the programs as well as media and communications. I can’t wait to work with CVC to further strengthen the program and am very excited to see what this year will bring. In my free time, I love reading books and going on road trips. Outside of CVC, this year I will also be working as a research assistant in Psychology department as well as continue my work for Academic ITS.

Briana Collins-Lee ’19

Hey! My name is Briana and I’m in the class of 2019 here at Colby. I’m a Psychology major and a Human Development minor. On campus I work at DavisConnects, volunteer with Let’s Get Ready, and work in the Development Psychology lab. I first became connected with ASB my first year when I participated on a trip to Virginia, and now I’m super excited to be working behind the scenes to make these amazing trips happen. In my free time I like to watch independent movies on Netflix, drink lots of coffee, and go home to visit Boston and Salem.
