Alexis Atkinson ‘15 is a multidisciplinary artist born and based in Queens, New York. Alexis’ artistry adopts a boundless sensibility moving seamlessly from theater, to poetry, to song, to film, and so on as a given piece requires. She is driven by her reverence for art-making’s limitless possibilities, her love for storytelling and craftsmanship, and her conviction to uphold the symbiotic relationship between content and form within her approach. Her artistic mission is to create art with “insights that incite,” crediting her double major in Theater & Dance and American Studies at Colby as the foundation for this mission. She has written, performed, produced, and directed several plays, films, and digital projects including, but not limited to, the plays Constellations and Water and the web series Stunted. As an actress, her credits include Dixon Place, Theater in Asylum, The Tank NYC, and the Billie Holiday Theatre. Currently, she is producing an EP after releasing three singles with accompanying music videos and works as Teaching Artist for Carnegie Hall building curriculum and facilitating courses in Songwriting and Music Business for New York City youth. In her leisure time, she loves to travel, read, bake, garden, paint, and play tabletop board games.
