Poster Project Formatting and Submission Form

Academic ITS provides poster printing services only for faculty and student research, as well as course-related projects. For personal or non-academic printing needs, members of the Colby community should contact a local graphic designer or commercial printing service.

Poster Templates

Two poster templates are available for download. Please create and submit your poster using one of these templates.

 

Submission Deadlines

To ensure your poster is printed on time, please submit it at least 48 hours before your presentation.

Class Poster Projects

If you are assigning poster presentations as part of a course, please contact Qiuli Wang ([email protected]) to coordinate a submission deadline for your class. Establishing class-specific deadlines helps prevent scheduling conflicts and ensures that all posters are printed well in advance of the presentation date.

Poster Printing Guidelines

  • The poster must be saved as a PowerPoint file (.ppt) or (.pdf)
  • Please do not make your poster with Google Slide and then download to PowerPoint. That approach will change the original poster size. You
    can export your poster to PDF from Good Slide.
  • To include an image on your poster, do NOT ‘copy and paste’. You must save the image to your computer, then use the ‘insert > picture’ option        to import it into
    Powerpoint.
  • Photographs, pictures, and figures should be of the highest possible resolution.
  • No more than 1/3 of the poster may have a non-white background to conserve toner and reduce printing time.
  • Keep fonts simple – remember that if you use a non-standard font that is not installed on the computer used for printing, your poster will lose
    both the font and its formatting in the printing process.
  • Use a font size that can be easily read from a distance.

Submitting Your Poster

When your poster is ready for printing, please submit it using the form found here. 

If you have difficulty submitting your poster with this form, please send it as an email attachment to [email protected]

Poster files that are too large for email can be uploaded to Google Drive and shared with [email protected]. When you share it, please indicate in the comment box whether your file was created on a PC or a Mac.

The poster will be printed in the Language Resource Center and you will receive a message to retrieve it from Lovejoy 404.
