Located in Lovejoy 406, the Instructional Media Center (IMC) is available as a resource to the Colby College community to assist members of the faculty with course-oriented academic projects.

- Poster Printing Services: printing large format posters for class projects and research projects.
- Scanning Services: IMC has a up to 11×17 inch high quality scanner.
- Digitization of LP video and audio cassette tape.

- Sound Booth
- Located in the back room of the LRC (Lovejoy 406), the Sound Booth is an isolation booth that allows you to reduce ambient noise and record high-quality audio. Student can use it to record podcasts, voice-overs, or even their own music.
- One Button Studio
- An easy to use recording video system that consists of a controllable camera, a microphone, lights and multiple colored backgrounds. It can be used for any video projects such as interviews or recording lectures.
- VHS format changes (PAL to NTSC)
- DVD copying
- Conversion of VHS tape to DVD
- Digitization of analog audio cassette tape to mp3 or audio CD
- Scanning of analog print or photo materials up to 11×17 in., including photos, slides, and documents.
- Digitization of analog audio LP to mp3 or audio CD
- Creation of digital clips (Quicktime, iMovie project) from MiniDV, VHS, or DVD

- Recording high quality audio in a sound isolation booth. The sound booth is a small soundproofed room in the IMC equipped with digital recording software and hardware.
Conversion and copying services must be conducted within the constraints of copyright law. The IMC cannot copy or convert materials for which permission has not been granted. Faculty members may be asked to obtain permission from the copyright holder or the opinion of the Director of Libraries before a conversion or copy can be made.
The IMC is for academic project use only and cannot accommodate requests for personal projects.
