Construction Notice: Work on new residence hall to begin May 28
We are excited to begin work on a transformational project for Colby—a new residence hall with 217 single rooms for juniors and seniors, opening in fall 2026. Activity on the site, between Mary Low Hall and Cotter Drive, begins on Tuesday, May 28 and will include changes to traffic patterns.
Given the building’s location in the center of campus, construction will require some rerouting of traffic. The site fencing will include a portion of Cotter Drive, Mayflower Hill Drive, and all of Runnals Walk. New traffic patterns will be implemented: Mayflower Hill Drive will be converted to one-way, open to south-bound (toward downtown) traffic from the Eustis Lot to Lunder Connector. North-bound vehicles will be detoured via Lunder Connector. A small section of Cotter Drive will be reduced to one lane. Runnals Walk from Mary Low Hall to Cotter Drive will be closed. Walkways from Mary Low Hall to Dana Lawn will remain open with ADA-accessible options available. Signage will be in place to highlight new patterns.
