We are accepting applications for summer jobs on campus, including summer research assistants (for Colby students only) and general administrative positions in various departments.
For Colby Students/Employees
Please find below application instructions for summer jobs through Colby’s internal careers site for those with Colby authentication (login) credentials.
Instructions for Viewing and Applying to Summer Jobs in Workday
- Log into Workday (If you need assistance logging in, please contact the ITS Support Center at 207-859-4222 or [email protected])
- Type “Find Summer Jobs” (without quotes) in the search bar in Select “Find Summer Jobs – CR”
- To review a job description and/or apply to a job, click on the Job title to go to the job
- From within the job posting, click the orange “Apply” button to apply to a specific
- Submit a resume and cover letter, (if requested within the job description), and complete the Summer Housing Application Questionnaire at the bottom of the page
- Click the orange “Submit” button to submit your application for review by the hiring
To see the summer jobs to which you have applied in Workday, type “My Applications” in the Workday search bar.
Contact student employment at [email protected] to confirm your I9 completion after your hiring manager chooses you for the job (moved you forward in Workday but before start working!
You cannot submit your time or get paid before having this completed. Original IDs will be needed to complete the I9 form!

For Non-Colby Students/Non-Colby Employees

Instructions: Viewing and Applying to Jobs in Workday
- Go to the Colby Summer Jobs site
- To review a job description and/or apply to a job, click on the Job title
- From within the job posting, click the “Apply” button to apply to a specific job
- On the next screen, sign into an existing account (if you have one and haven’t signed in already) or create a new account
- Once signed in (via an existing account or the new one you just created), progress through the application screens by hitting the “Back” or the “Next” button (required fields are marked with a red asterisk *)
- Click the “Submit” button to submit your application for review by the hiring manager
To see the summer jobs to which you have applied:
- Go to the Colby Summer Jobs site
- If you have an existing account, click the blue “Sign In” button in the upper right; if you are already logged into your account, go to your Profile by clicking on your picture or the cloud icon in the upper-right hand corner, and select Candidate Home
- Go to the Submitted Applications sections
All summer hires must complete the Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) on or before their first day of employment.
- Non-Colby Students – schedule an appointment with HR to complete this
- Colby Students – those new to working on campus will have to also complete the Form I- 9 on or before their first day of work.We will contact you if you need to complete onboarding.

- For approved forms of ID to present, please see Lists of Acceptable Documents on Page 3. Please bring your original IDs and not You can bring one ID from list A or a combination of IDs, one from List B + another from List C.
- Onboarding appointments for summer employment will be posted soon.
NOTE: If the position you are applying for requires driving an electric or gas-powered vehicle, you must have a valid driver’s license. In addition, if your position requires driving a vehicle on public roadways, employment will be subject to meeting the College’s Fleet Safety Policy requirements.

Colby Students: You must apply to a summer research or administrative summer job (by following the instructions above) to be officially hired by the College.
Once a department hires you, you will be contacted about applying for on-campus housing (if you requested it on your job application).

Non-Colby Students: Once a department hires you, you will complete your employment paperwork in Workday (our hiring system). The Form I-9 must be completed on or before your first day of employment. Please coordinate with your hiring supervisor to schedule an appointment to come to the Office of Human Resources to complete the I-9 including presenting ID (See List of Acceptable Documents on pg. 3).
