Students interested in borrowing a federal student loan for the 2026-27 year must submit the Federal Loan Request through the financial aid portal to document their decision to borrow. Please read about federal student loan borrowing and loan limits, before making any decisions to borrow. Remember, Federal (student) Direct, and (parent) PLUS Loans will show “tentative” on the student account statement within 7 days of receiving a completed Loan Request Form. Federal grants and loans as well as institutional grant will be posted to the student’s account no earlier than 10 business days before the first day of classes each semester.

The 2026-27 Federal Direct Loan Request is expected to be available later this spring.
