Doing your laundry in Colby residence halls couldn’t be easier. Laundry is included in your general services fee, so you don’t need quarters or tokens to operate machines. Our laundry facilities partner, CSC Serviceworks, even provides an interactive service called LaundryView. This internet application allows you to monitor the status of washers and dryers in connected laundry rooms. You may also receive notification via email when a machine is available or when your laundry is done. LaundryView can graphically display the past two weeks usage of a particular laundry room so students can avoid peak usage times. With less time spent waiting for available machines, you can spend more time studying and relaxing with friends.

Laundry Tip…

Only use 2 tablespoons of detergent in the high-capacity front-loader washers. If you notice that the washer remains at approximately 10 minutes and won’t complete the cycle, you have a problem with too much soap. The easiest solution would be to add 2 cups of fabric softener to reduce the suds. If you don’t have fabric softener, unplug the washer and wait 5 minutes for the washer to unlock to remove your clothes.  Visit the LaundryView website for more useful information.
