eCHECKUP To Go: available early October
All new students complete eCHECKUP To Go, a personalized, evidence-based alcohol and marijuana education program. The choices you make around substances can have a significant impact on your college experience, making the content of this course valuable to your overall success. For most people, this activity will take less than 30 minutes. The link to eCHECKUP To Go is located in the First Year Journey course on Omprakash Edge, as well as the path to verify completion by uploading a Completion Certificate.
Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training: two sessions required; dates to be announced
Each 60-minute session is discussion-based, and led by a team of trained sexual misconduct prevention peer educators. The first session provides a comprehensive understanding of Colby’s sexual violence policies and procedures. The second introduces the skills necessary to safely intervene before an incident escalates and to effectively support a friend who has experienced sexual violence.
First Year Journey on the Colby Trail: August through April
The First Year Journey (FYJ) is a scaffolded, integrative program that aims to support your holistic growth and flourishing throughout your first year of living and learning at Colby. The FYJ combines asynchronous online learning via the Omprakash Edge platform with a series of Live Sessions that offer opportunities for deepening reflection and dialogue with your peers.
The FYJ is situated within the Colby Trail, which will ultimately extend from first year all the way to graduation.
If your Distribution Checklist has not been properly credited, please contact your faculty or staff facilitator or Valerie Sirois, Associate Registrar, within one week of the event.
